That was WEIRD!

December 10, 2010

Glitchy things always happening with technology. Phone won’t work, computer does weird things, it goes on and on.

Anyhoo having a lot of fun on FB and reminiscing about the old days in Long Beach, Roswell St. My friend Deb remembering that we used to have “Pee Wee Herman” breakfasts. My brother had this really cherry Karmann Ghia, not sure who took this photo, but Gene (my bro), Deb, Xane (my ex), and myself were all in front of the old place in Belmont Shore. I really miss being a half a block from the beach. Felt like I was on vaca every single day, working or not. So many great memories from those days. Lived in three different apartments on Roswell St. And now a downstairs neighbor’s friend, visiting from out of state, has found an apt. on Roswell St.! Coincidences abound!

This is how I feel when I self promote with the art…

Day three of being “J-less”

November 16, 2010

And it feels great! Of course will miss the great moments and happy memories of ‘the good times,’ but knowing I’m not living in a powderkeg feels great.

Mike Scott did the amazing animation for this…

M valiantly did her best to come for a visit today – she doesn’t drive so she tried the Metro – but complications with health led to dizziness and her feeling bad.  She left a msg. that she would have to try another day when she could start earlier and wouldn’t have to worry about her dog.

Wow. Someone has been dropping the same acid I have…

Almost have my life back…

October 27, 2010

Things have been insane ever since taxes (always extend). I’m “getting there” in terms of having a somewhat ‘normal’ life again, plus have to admit a lot of time being “sucked up” by FB plus a new artwork AND doing a new music compilation. So life is full!

Way too much going on, but it will settle down soon, I’m sure. To pacify users who are (increasingly) watching here, here’s a yummy morsel, and expect more coming from me more consistently soon!

Mortality

September 13, 2010

Dealing with issues of mortality now that parents are in their 80’s and Tazzy is 24, Goober 13 or 14. All considered seniors by normal standards. So I told Brennan Smith, my hypnotherapist, I want a new session to help me deal with this issues, I LOVE his quote:

Grieving can be an amazing blossoming / unfolding experience when you take ownership of mortality’s silliness and celebrate the temporal nature of things!

Isn’t that great? I love that…”celebrate the temporal nature of things.” So true, and really, the contrast is what makes life all the more interesting and worthwhile, right? Without night how could we appreciate the day, and voisa-visa (as Bugs Bunny would say). Speaking of which, I love a great Bugs cartoon, so will put one in here before leaving!

Artslant’s owner Rod Turner just sent me a very flattering email re: my work, and, I got an invite to have work in a group show, what a lovely day this has turned out to be! I should celebrate with an ice-blended mocha with a cherry on top. Think I will, why not?

One of my favs…I have the soundtrack on one of my compilation CD’s. Well, Warner Bros. removed the content due to “copyright infringement” so hope at least a few of you were able to enjoy it before it flew into the ether!

Well lost ‘Hillbilly Hare” but this one is good too…

AND…I found this incredibly bizarre cartoon. I think someone has definitely tasted LSD and had plenty of time on their hands!!! But I love it, even though it pissed a lot of people off (lots of negative comments, oh well!) I HAVE tried LSD, so maybe that’s why I like it!
